The collection is the earliest group of records of the New York State Bureau of Military Records, now the New York State Military Museum, which document the acquisition of items in the museum's collection. These records, generally arranged chronologically, note when an iten came into the collection. who donated it, and a description of the item. Many of the donations are given an accession number.
